Area Elections - How to Vote

On Saturday, November 15, 2014 from 8:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m., the Regional District of Kootenay Boundary (RDKB) will hold the General Local Government Election for the office(s) of Director(s) for the RDKB jurisdictions of: Electoral Area A, Electoral Area B/Lower Columbia-Old Glory, Electoral Area C/Christina Lake, Electoral Area D/Rural Grand Forks and Electoral E/West Boundary.

Whether you live at Big White full time OR you don’t, you have a RIGHT TO VOTE if you meet the criteria outlined below. You may vote in person at the advance polls on November 5 or November 12 (at Beaverdell or Rock Creek) or on actual voting day at Big White on November 15 (White Crystal Inn Conference Room) if you meet the following criteria:
--- You own property at Big White
--- You are a Canadian citizen; and
--- You are at least 18 years old; and
--- You have lived in BC for at least 6 months
--- You have been a registered owner of real property for at least 30 days
--- You are not holding property in trust for a corporation or any other trust

To Vote, your must be registered on the Electoral Vote List.

To Vote -
a) Request a “Mail in Ballot” by phone or email by 4pm on November 7th from tlenarndon@rdkb.com
b) Register to Vote on the appropriate form in the mail in voter ballot. Complete this registration form first!
c) Cast your vote on the ballot form and return in the mail to RDKB to arrive by Saturday 15th at 4pm
d) If you are able to come up and visit a polling station you must bring at least TWO pieces of identification from the list attached at the bottom of this post. If voting by mail you will need to include a photocopy of your 2 ID pieces.

All of the information regarding eligibility to vote, registration criteria for resident and non-resident voters and mail ballot voting is included below.  Also attached are the voter application forms.
